The Shadow RD+ clutch can be engaged via a small lever: In the “On” position, spring tension increases, chain slap is reduced, and the drivetrain runs significantly quieter – perfect for fast descents and technical sections. In the “Off” position, installing and removing the rear wheel is noticeably easier.

The derailleur body is made of cold-forged aluminum and composite material, while the outer plate is made of carbon. Together with the four Teflon-coated linkage bushings and the 11-tooth pulley wheels with sealed bearings, this ensures crisp, play-free shifting and a long service life – even with intensive off-road use.

The RD-M9000 operates on the Top-Normal principle and is optimized for Rapidfire-Plus shifters. It is fully compatible with Shimano Dyna-Sys 11-speed MTB systems and designed for use with HG-X 11-speed chains.
