The Öhlins STX 22 Air in size 200 x 51 mm (model 1881) is a versatile air shock for demanding MTB use. Its generously sized piston works with a finely tuned compression valve and optimally controls the oil flows in the shock – for sensitive response, plenty of grip, and a plush, controlled ride.

The independently adjustable high- and low-speed compression as well as the rebound damping can be adjusted externally. Additionally, a Climb Mode is available, which stiffens the rear for long climbs, thus improving pedaling efficiency and traction. On descents, you benefit from finely metered support in the mid-travel range, without having to sacrifice reserves for hard impacts.

The STX 22 Air's air spring uses a low-friction sealing system that allows for rapid pressure equalization between the air chambers. The result: sensitive initial travel, controlled damping in the mid-travel, and high bottom-out resistance. The characteristic curve can be tuned from rather linear to significantly progressive via air pressure, volume spacers, and oil quantity – tailored to riding style, frame, and area of use.

The hard-anodized aluminum housing ensures a low weight from approx. 340 g and high durability. As is customary for Öhlins, the shock is fully serviceable and thus ideally suited for service, maintenance, and individual tuning. A 2-year warranty underlines the high-quality construction.
