The SRAM Apex 1 crankset offers a simple, reliable and low-maintenance drivetrain for road bikes, gravel bikes and trekking bikes. By eliminating the front derailleur, operation is reduced to a single shifter, allowing the rider to focus completely on the route.

The slim aluminum crank arms and integrated asymmetric 4-arm spider provide a good balance of stiffness and weight. At the same time, the crank arms offer an additional 2 mm of clearance on each side, making them suitable for wider gravel and cyclocross frames as well.

The 40-tooth X-SYNC™ chainring features alternating wide and narrow teeth. These engage positively with the chain and ensure secure chain retention even on rough terrain. As a rule, no additional chain guide is therefore required.
