The Shimano RT-MT800 brake rotor was developed for demanding MTB use and long descents. With a diameter of 180 mm, it offers high braking power and reliable modulation in changing conditions.

The three-layer sandwich construction consists of two stainless steel braking surfaces and an aluminum core. This design significantly improves heat dissipation and can reduce the brake rotor temperature by around 100 °C. As a result, braking performance remains consistent even under prolonged load.

Additional Freeza aluminum cooling fins increase the surface area of the brake rotor and can lower the system temperature by a further approximately 50 °C. Reduced heat generation minimizes brake fade and can also extend brake pad life.
